A Targeted Phishing scam

Yet another phishing scam needs to be addressed. This one is much more targeted towards a specific segment of our membership. Many memebrs of the credit union from Moraine Valley, whether they are faculty or staff, have reported recieving an email from Credit Unions of the USA telling them that there accounts have been frozen or locked, and that in order for the member to re-acivate their account they must log into a specific website and enter in their personal account information.

As with most of the emails of this type, this is a scam in an effort to gather your personal information. This information would be used to steal your identity or to make fraudulent purchases from your account. As with any of these types of emails, please do not click on the link, or enter in any personal information.

Ifyou have any questions or concerns, please contact our webmaster, either through email or directly at the Palos Branch.
